Do you desire fuller, plumper lips without top-up filler injections every couple of months? If so, then PermaLip may be the answer!
PermaLip is a new type of permanent lip filler that consists of a silicone implant that is inserted into the lip. Read more here (link to the PermaLip leaflet).
PermaLip can be inserted into the upper and lower lip and takes approximately twenty minutes per lip. The implants are inserted via two small 4mm incisions at the corner of the mouth. The implant is then passed through a tunnel created in the lip and centred. The incisions are closed with dissolving sutures and patients can return to normal activities the next day. There is no visible scarring as the incisions are made inside the corner of the lips.
To determine which size Permalip is best for you, we will listen to your desires and measure your lips. It is important to understand PermaLip does not alter the shape or position of the lip. It does not reduce height of the upper lip either.
PermaLip come in different lengths and widths and are tapered at each end to match the natural lip shape.
Prior to your surgery, our team will give you detailed aftercare instructions. This will include how to care for the surgical site and incisions, pain relief that may be used to handle discomfort and when you may resume normal activity.

Infection – very rarely an infection can arise which may require treatment with antibiotics or further surgery.
Swelling – patients should expect their lips to swell post-operatively, lasting three to four days and bruising for seven days.
Sensitivity – lips will be sensitive to pressure for about two weeks. This may cause difficulty with speaking, eating and drinking for a short while.
