Mr Sid Shah

After beginning his surgical career in India, Mr Shah moved to the UK to pursue advanced Sports Medicine training at the University of Sheffield, with support from the Indian Cricket Board. He went on to complete higher surgical training within the Yorkshire and Humber Deanery before undertaking prestigious specialist fellowships in internationally renowned centres. These included advanced knee fellowship training in Leeds (UK), a BOA-sponsored Advanced Knee Fellowship at the Karolinska Institute in Stockholm (Sweden), and a BOSTAA-sponsored Advanced Paediatric & Adult Knee Fellowship at Toulouse Teaching Hospitals (France). Through this extensive international training, Mr Shah developed specialist expertise alongside world-leading surgeons in knee preservation, sports injuries, complex ligament reconstruction, and joint restoration, shaping his commitment to delivering the highest standards of patient-centred care.

His specialist expertise includes complex ligament reconstruction (ACL, PCL, MCL, LCL, and patellofemoral instability), meniscal preservation and transplantation, cartilage restoration, corrective osteotomies around the knee, and advanced management of sports-related injuries in both adults and young patients. He has also completed additional specialist training in paediatric and adolescent knee preservation and deformity correction.

Mr Shah has worked as a Complex Soft Tissue Knee and Arthroplasty Consultant within major UK teaching hospitals and trauma centres, including Leeds and Hull. Passionate about helping patients regain mobility, confidence, and performance, he supports everyone from individuals returning to daily activities to competitive and professional athletes returning to sport. Alongside clinical practice, he is actively involved in orthopaedic education and leadership, contributing to national and international training through organisations including the BOA, BOSTAA and BIOS.

Known for his approachable manner and patient-centred philosophy, Mr Shah combines meticulous surgical expertise with modern, evidence-based treatments to provide tailored solutions for every patient. His priority is always to preserve the natural joint wherever possible, helping patients remain active and delay or avoid joint replacement surgery. When needed, he also offers expert care in partial knee replacement, including patellofemoral joint replacement, and total knee arthroplasty to restore mobility, function, and quality of life.
