What is Cubital Tunnel Syndrome?
The ulnar nerve is one of the three main nerves in your arm. At the elbow, it travels through the cubital tunnel, a space under a bony bump called the medial epicondyle. Because there is very little soft tissue protecting the nerve here, it is highly susceptible to pressure.

Compression usually occurs because the tunnel narrows or because the nerve 'subluxes' (slides back and forth) over the bone when the elbow is bent. This stretching and friction cause inflammation. At Kinvara Hospital, our surgeons use clinical examinations - checking for signs like 'Froment’s sign' (thumb compensation during pinching) - and nerve conduction studies to determine exactly where the nerve is being pinched and how severe the damage is.
